Personality:
► What is your character's worst fear?
To summarize it in a few words, it's being overlooked. It's being weak and helpless, and being dismissed by others for it. This is something he fights tooth and nail, since now he's a megalomaniac with a god complex. The best way to not be overlooked is to be worshipped instead. Canon hasn't explained (yet) where that fear comes from- whether something happened early in life to instill this need to prove himself to others and remain as relevant as possible. Maybe it's trauma, maybe it's repressed homosexual feelings, maybe he just had a tiny dick and needed to overcompensate for it. Doesn't really matter. All we know for certain is that he already had this fear and consequent coping mechanism when he began his career as a weather man, driving him down a slippy slide of serial killing as he took out all the flashy competition and usurped their jobs. Not only that, he was also seen taking on their sense of fashion after taking their place. He needed to be absolutely certain that the network's audience would look at him with the same adoration that was aimed at his late predecessors. In Hell, he's put himself at the top of the pecking order as an Overlord, starting his cult all over again, but it's not enough. That need to stay relevant and prove he's powerful drives him to challenge his enemies in the most public ways possible. (And also ensures he broadcasts his victories as publicly as possible.) Basically, man's a narcissist and the best way to make him feel cornered is to confront him with the fact that all his gloating is just hot air; that he's not a god, just a loser not worth any attention.

► What would make the character happiest? What is their ultimate goal?
Now this is an interesting one, because the problem with Vox is the goal posts keep moving. He keeps climbing the ladder because he wants to be 'on top', but this ladder doesn't have a top rung. There's always going to be someone 'better' than Vox. Someone stronger, someone shinier, someone who deserves more admiration than he does. He takes it so far that he wants to take over Heaven and become God, but even if he'd succeeded in that, the grass still would've been greener for someone else. Alastor surmises that no matter how far Vox goes, it'll never be enough. His cup will never be full. That's pretty accurate, since Vox never seems to appreciate what he already has. He boasts about it, sure, but that's just a show he puts on let other people know how successful he is. Ironically, the only way for Vox to be happy would be to accept that he already has what he needs to be happy, and he never will. Not unless something very extreme happens to confront him with how much he stands to lose, anyway.

Sidenote: it does seem like he genuinely and unabashedly loves his pet sharks, especially Shok.wav. Interacting with this enormous, biologically engineered cyborg demon creature is one of the few moments where we see him excited in a way that's wholesome, whereas he tends to dismiss, manipulate and lecture the other two Vees half the time. He would never tell Shok.wav to 'get his fucking act together and do as he's told' because Shok.wav is a good boy, a precious boy, can never do anything wrong.

► If they had to sacrifice their own life to save someone else, would they do it? Why, or why not? Where do they draw the line?
No. Absolutely not. Though it gets a little complicated, because according to Hazhellaverse lore, Sinner demons don't die die so easily. The only way to deal a lethal level of damage to someone who's already dead is through angelic weaponry or blasts of angelic magic. That's a little murky terrain, since it's never outright said in the series, but the fact that Vox's head can be taken off his body without real consequence, and that a hostile angel invasion is seen as a really big deal in a city that's already full of serial killers and arsonists, sure solidifies the notion. So if it were a matter of 'Vox's body gets damaged but he'll be able to put himself back together over time', he'd take the blow for his fellow Vees. Heck, he'd take the blow for a person he hates if he could spin it in a way that makes him look good. As long as it's beneficial, he'll 'sacrifice' himself and suffer through the inconvenience of whatever it takes to recover.

If we're talking permanent death through angelic means, that's a very different story. No benefits to reap from playing the hero card when he's gone. Besides, there's no one in life more important than himself, so it's highly unlikely he'd ever prioritize someone else in that way. What Vox would do is sacrifice his life to kill his worst enemy. Which he, uh, actually threatens to do in the season 2 finale. All innocent bystanders in a many-mile radius would be killed too, but that's not relevant here. Point is, Vox would never die a hero, but he is willing die that eternal death out of spite.

► What was the darkest point of your character's life?
He'd insist he's never had any dark points, because that's for losers. It's all in the eye of the beholder, though. Anyone with a moral compass would point out Vox's life has been a cavalcade of dark and twisted moments, caused by dark and shitty decisions. The deepest low hits in the season 2 climax, because while he usually still pulls himself together and keeps going with life after a setback, this moment is different. With an enormous angelic weapon in hand and Alastor baiting him at every turn, rage sends him into tunnel vision unlike any other. He stops caring about the city, he stops caring about the Sinners who were meant to adore him, he stops caring about that plan that'll let him ascend to Heaven for a take over... He even stops caring about his own allies, and about himself. The weapon is about to overload and destroy everything, but he's blind and deaf to the consequences. Ironically, it's a discreet parallel to his actual death: he was so focused on his self-imposed mission, he was blind to his surroundings and failed to notice that standing in water while surrounded by electronics that hadn't been secured properly was a Really Bad Idea, taking out not only himself but all the cultists in the room. (There's also a fan interpretation that he was planning mass suicide all along in that scene, but considering the ultimate cause of death is the fact that a cable snapped, I'm ruling it 'accidental idiot death' until proven otherwise.)

In death, he's just as careless as in life. In his own words, so long as he gets to wipe that smug smile off Alastor's face, he doesn't care what happens. This absolute fool is willing to kill everyone, himself included, as long as he can erase the asshole who broke his heart from existence as well. And yes, he sheds a tear as he says it, really rubbing in how overcome by emotion he is. He won't listen to reason, not even to Valentino and Velvette. His rampage is only stopped when Valentino rips his head from his body, ensuring that he literally can't keep doubling down anymore.

► Who is the most important person in your character's life? How has that person impacted them?
Not to be predictable, but there really is only one answer to that question. It's Alastor, the radio demon. Not for any good reasons, mind. When Vox was still a mortal human, he lived his entire life only looking out for himself. Jealousy and a need to be The Most Adored Guy ensured that he thought everyone was beneath him. Other people were only stepping stones- lower sections of a pyramid. They were only good for looking up at him. And then he died, went to Hell, and met Alastor. Both powerful and power hungry, they were a literal match made in Hell- or so Vox believed. This was the one person who succeeded in having Vox challenge all those selfish beliefs he'd held onto. The one person he would have wanted to share the spotlight with. So just imagine how much damage was dealt when Vox swallowed all his selfish pride and exposed those vulnerable parts of himself by asking for a true partnership, only to be laughed at.

'There's no such thing as friends in Hell, no equal footing, only Sinners who exploit one another. If you rely on others to have power, it means you're weak.' That was the message to be driven into him. So naturally, Vox doubled down on the idea that he cannot and should not share the spotlight with anyone else. Nobody is going to stand all the way at the top but him, because as messed up as it is, he still cares about Alastor's opinion. And if Alastor thinks that being someone's equal is a sign of weakness, then it must be true. So sure, he tells the other two Vees that they're partners, but he doesn't mean it. He's scared to mean it, because if he were to be that reliant on them and vulnerable with them, it'd just open up the opportunity to be hurt all over again. Rejection hurts when you get that attached to the idea of genuine emotion being reciprocated, so let's just not get fully attached again. Easy peasy!
